The latest from the treatment room at Solar Campus and Prenton Park
Tranmere Rovers manager Micky Mellon is pleased to have a few more players at his disposal ahead of the busy Christmas schedule as the queue for the treatment room is getting smaller.
Midfielders Jay Harris and Jeff Hughes returned to the Rovers substitutes’ bench after their recent injury lay-offs and the manager is hopeful that there will be others coming back into the squad ahead of the upcoming fixtures.
“We have Jeff Hughes who probably wasn’t ready to start on Saturday but was on the bench against Torquay.
“We’ll have Liam Ridehalgh back, so our numbers will be boosted by that.
“Obviously, we have the long-term injured, but they’re moving closer to being available as well.
“We got Jake Kirby half a game last week in the Liverpool Senior Cup tie, so that’s a bonus and we’ll work on stepping up his training because he’s another important player for us as well.
“So we’ll try and get those numbers back up and get those game changers back as soon as we can.”
