Manager reflects on 2-0 win on the road at Damson Park
Micky Mellon was pleased with the way that his side dealt with the hot and sticky conditions to pick up three points away at Solihull Moors on Bank Holiday Monday.
Ollie Norburn struck in the first half to give Rovers a half time advantage before Andy Cook sealed the victory with eight minutes remaining.
The manager said that it was important to pick up maximum points to get back to winning ways.
“It’s a very important win. We came here to get a result, there’s no doubt about that.
“We’ve played much better and got nothing this season, but considering it was red hot chili peppers out there the lads did well.
“There will be other days when we want to play slick attractive attacking football but sometimes you have to play to the conditions, get over the line, pick up the points and get ourselves going again.
“We dealt with everything defensively, I don’t think Scott Davies has had a save to make, so every credit to the players for that and it’s a really valuable three points.”
